To achieve department specific KPI targets successfully and to ensure that they adhere to all service level agreements.Job Description:At a GlanceContract Type: PermanentLocation: JL Victoria 171 / Drummond Base (Pimlico)Salary Range: We are looking for candidates within our budgeted range of £24,400.00 – £28,000 per annumPartnership Level: 9Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm 35 hours per weekJob RequirementsWe are looking for two chefs to join our Catering team at the John Lewis Partnership.This is a demanding role within the Catering team which will be providing food to Partners. The role requires excellent communication and customer service skills.It can be physically demanding with some manual handling and would suit someone who is highly motivated and able to take initiative when working on their own.We value work-life balance, This role would suit someone who prefers set hours and no weekend working.Key Responsibilities Including but not limited toThe responsibility will range from working in a small to large kitchen, preparing hot and cold foods and pastry items ensuring a clean and tidy working environment.Operating, cleaning and maintaining equipment within the department is essential as well as having an excellent knowledge of the John Lewis food safety standards.Apply the John Lewis food safety policies and procedures which include all legislation applicable to the Catering operationAbility to oversee the opening, closing and daily running of the operationPrepare, serve and present food to a high standardEssential skills you’ll needOperational experience as a Chef in PDRs, canteens or hospitalityGood Basic Education –Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate. – Level 2Recognised Food Production Certificate.
