Retail Checkout Supervisor Job CorkMy client a well known supermarket group is hiring for a highly organised Retail Manager to take up the responsibility of running one of the most important departments within their stores. This is a great opportunity to join a well-run supermarket group with a chain of modern stores across Munster. A bright, vibrant shop, protected by security, and led by a well highly skilled management team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a busy customer facing retail environment, responsible for supervising a large team in a demanding environment. You will also be part of the wider management team, and 1 to 2 times weekly, will either open or close the store taking responsibility for the entire shop. People management and the ability to train, supervise, and motivate people under them is key to this Checkout Manager job.Our clients offer a competitive salary, staff discount, opportunities to progress into more senior roles, attend management courses, and a salary of €34,000- €38,000 DOEThe Requirements for this Retail Checkout Manager Job:

  • At least 1 year`s checkout or customer service experience as a Supervisor or Team Leader level, responsible for people, supervising their work and delegating tasks
  • Ability to balance tills, manage cash and some retail technology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs
  • Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible
  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibility for this Checkout Manager job:

  • Supervising and managing teams in a high pressured environment
  • Ensure all staff reporting to you are competent in any duties required and are given adequate training relevant to their tasks
  • Organising your teams to have job and tasks completed in a timely manner, within standards and following companies SOP
  • Merchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all times
  • Attend and engage in management meetings and bring learning, and new initiatives to help enhance team morale, performance and customer engagement
  • Active problem solver, making calm and decisive decisions that are centered on a positive customer experience.

Expected salary

€34000 – 38000 per year
