Are you currently a Key Account Manager in either the foodservice / FMCG retail sector and are now seeking an exciting and dynamic opportunity as a Business Unit Leader where you can use your skills and expertise in a challenging yet rewarding environment then please consider the following opportunity. As a Business Unit Leader with our client, a very successful and growing Bakery Ingredients supplier you will play a pivotal role in driving sales and business development within the Midlands and West of Ireland. Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you will spearhead the company’s efforts to achieve ambitious growth targets over the next five years in a culture that prioritizes hard work, persistence, integrity, and humility.Responsibilities:

  • Overall and direct supervision of the development and implementation of a sales and client pipeline across key market segments to identify a clear path to steady growth delivering a financial result to support business growth plans.
  • Manage existing customer relationships to maintain sales volumes and margins in the current market.
  • Identify, develop, and execute new business as per company strategy to deliver sales targets.
  • Sales of new products and branded products driven via all sales channels
  • Facilitate communication between all functions within the business to ensure efforts are aligned.
  • Key Account Management to include retailer/ foodservice head office, industrial customers,
  • Drive customer engagement, share gains and increase productivity within all business functions.
  • Delivering your annual sales and margin budget at or above the targeted Gross Margin is a prerequisite.
  • Leverage the experience of the Sales & company teams with maximum efficiency to drive sales when attending key meetings and relationship building.
  • Stakeholder management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of the Food industry and sector is essential.
  • Previous experience of managing key accounts to include retailer/ foodservice head office, industrial customers, required – with demonstrable accomplishments in the past.
  • Proven track record of strong sales skills with the ability to manage all customer account types from SME to key accounts
  • Develop and drive your sales pipeline via incremental sales growth via existing accounts to new business start-ups.
  • Drive and energy to perform and deliver in a fast-paced environment, is a self-starter who needs little direction and has a proven track record of success.
  • Report to the sales director via call reports, weekly work plans and monthly territory analysis – such reports should include all new leads and new business.
  • Regular monitoring of sales volumes against past trends and budgets and gap analysis for same
  • Price products as per company margin policy and communicate with customers on same
  • Maintain price books for customers
  • Coordinate and manage the diaries of the technical bakers in your area
  • Liaise with credit control and the finance function
  • Strong excel and power point knowledge
  • Extensive travel across the island of Ireland with a requirement at times for overnight stays

Desirable:

  • ”Black book ” of contacts that will open the door to new business/contacts/sectors.
  • Multi-site management
