This position is responsible for Commercial Card Sales to local and multinational business in the middle market field segment within International Card Services (ICS).

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a sound commercial card acquisition sales plan for your assigned portfolio; ensuring all planning, tracking and reporting is timely and accurate. Strong pipeline management and eye for business are key requirements for success with this role.

The candidate will develop and execute strategies by building detailed product knowledge and applying consultative selling techniques to client conversations. Most significantly, the successful candidate will be accountable for growing the Commercial Card business through the acquisition of new middle market corporate customers.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Execution of the middle market Corporate Card sales strategy within the portfolio prescribed

  • Achieve daring Corporate Card growth targets by winning new business to the franchise via new client engagement and cross-sells.

  • Purposefully lead the sales pipeline ensuring the pipeline is robust and will meet the targets including accurate and timely reporting of the pipeline and prospects within the pipeline.

  • Develop and execute a sales plan for growing penetration and improving operational economics.

  • Define acquisition sales strategies for the given territory which optimize the added value of each element of our value proposition, improving returns to meet and exceed set sales growth targets

  • Highly customer-focused and results-oriented.

  • Strong communication/presentation skills with broad range of internal and external customers

  • Partnership – a proven record to ensure key linkages with other business partners are optimized (finance, operations, etc)

  • Develop sound relationships across distribution partners e.g. Travel Agents, Expense Mgt Providers, Consultants, etc

Qualifications:

  • Proven understanding of, or the ability to learn the corporate card business

  • Direct sales experience in a B2B environment

  • Structured methodology to acquire new business

  • Strong financial/Eye for business (understanding of cash flow, P&L) and have the ability to have a confident discussion in relation to Corporate Payments

  • Ability to articulate knowledge about products, services and value proposition to C Level Executives is a must

  • Ability to collaborate and influence internally and externally (both face to face and over the phone)

  • A Collaborative approach to sales

  • Experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies

  • Valid Australian Drivers License
