Position Overview

The Director of Automation will be based in the United Kingdom (preferably England) and is responsible for identifying, acquiring, and growing significant client relationships, client retention and renewal, and overall client satisfaction for ISG’s Automation Practice. In addition, Directors are responsible for coaching, mentoring, supervising and development of ISG’s consulting resources assigned to the applicable market or Industry. The Director will be initially focused across all industry verticals although this might narrow to specific focus areas over time. Ideal candidate may be recognized in an industry and have extensive experience and contacts with IT and/or Technology leaders in that given sector.

The Director is responsible for generating at least $5M in sales annually and $2M in supervised revenue annually. Director must have significant industry and consulting expertise and demonstrated thought leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business opportunities for Automation services to clients in areas of Advisory and consulting services, licensing sales, managed and continuous services. Directors are expected to build and maintain executive relationships and show enate skills in leadership, negotiation, administration, and marketing.
  • Senior client and service provider executives recognize Directors as a trusted advisor and thought leader.
  • Ability to drive and own specific P&L with minimum supervision, responsible for all people decision in territory with accountability and consulting with the European President and other members of the European Leadership Team (ELT). Based on level and overall remit, may be a member of the ELT.
  • Foster business relationships with clients in the N. Europe markets.
  • Develop the financial, statement of work, service level and contract terms portions of the RFP.
  • Recognized as leader in both client work as well as within ISG. Takes initiative to participate and lead aspects of ISG business.

Required Skillsets

  • 15+ years of recent experience preferably working for a technology vendor, management consulting firm in several roles including technology, account management, sales, sales support, and service delivery management.
  • Expert knowledge of information technology, service delivery, outsourcing. Partner Eco-system management, governance, operating models, and service provider management.
  • Expert business technology skills in ideally the financial industry or one other consulting heavy industry, with a proven track record.
  • Proven successful experience with building a sales pipeline and long-term client relationships, in terms of sales, client relationships and project teams.
  • 15+ years recent experience with technology or technology services firms.
  • Experienced in simultaneously managing multiple responsibilities i.e. client delivery, business development, practice development and advisor development. Delivery management leadership experience, including managing teams at all project phases, managing multiple medium sized or mega deals, and a demonstrated exemplary track record in successful client relationship management.
  • Further develops relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 technology vendors.
  • Strong operational strategy and transformation skills.
  • Recognized as industry expert by clients and peers. Previous experience speaking at industry relevant conferences.
  • Business development and sales experience including prospecting, lead qualification, proposal writing, sales calls and sales support.
  • Practice development experience, including sales and marketing collateral development, IP development and solution development.
  • Expert ability to do both strategic assessments, transactional, and transformational consulting at senior levels.
  • Deep solutioning ability, paired with latest tech-led solution knowledge.
  • Superb presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with CxO level audiences on projects.
  • Additional European languages in addition to English preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in a technical or scientific field
  • MBA or another advanced degree (s) desirable
