Based in London and San Francisco, our client champions diversity and thrives in a vibrant, global, equal-opportunity environment.About the Role:As the Banking Operations Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of establishing and managing our client’s global banking operations. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to make a significant impact through strategic management and innovative solutions.Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Head of Banking to build a cutting-edge Global Banking Operations team, focusing on systems, procedures, controls, and governance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Legal, Compliance, Commercial, Product, and Finance teams to seamlessly implement processes and launch new products.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong banking relationships while exploring and structuring banking and FX infrastructure in new markets.
- Project Optimization: Lead global banking projects to optimize bank account structures and develop long-term strategies that drive efficiency and growth.
- Operational Excellence: Act as the go-to expert for resolving operational issues across the banking network, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Policy Development: Create and implement robust policies and reporting systems to maintain high standards and regulatory compliance.
- Onboarding and Compliance: Oversee new FX and banking partner onboarding, including KYC/AML processes, account opening, and system setups.
- Negotiation and Management: Work with Legal to negotiate and arrange ISDA agreements, manage annual KYC renewals, and maintain banking and FX trading mandates.
- Data Management: Oversee banking and FX data across treasury systems, ensuring accurate and timely management of information.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and Treasury Management System (Kyriba).
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional skills in communicating and presenting complex information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Organizational Mastery: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical Acumen: Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying issues, proposing solutions, and implementing improvements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience: 5+ years in financial institutions or fintech, with hands-on experience in onboarding processes, KYC, financial crime, risk frameworks, and partnerships with global/regional banks and FX providers.
- Process Improvement: Proven track record in process improvement through change management and automation, and experience with multiple legal entities and counterparties.
- Leadership: Previous people management experience is a plus.
