An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and clinically credible senior neonates nurse with a proven record at band 7/8 level of working collaboratively with multi- disciplinary and multi-agency teams to deliver the highest standards of care across the service, to join us as a Band 8B Matron for children’s services, working closely with the Matrons for General Paediatrics, Paediatrics Emergency and Labour Ward. We work closely alongside the Maternity and Paediatrics Departments at BHRUT as well as within the NEL network. The team is led by our Director of Nursing for Babies, Children and Young people, a Trust wide role to ensure children and young people receive high quality care wherever they access services across our organisation. You will also be supported by the Head of Nursing for the Children’s Directorate, Children’s Clinical Site Practitioner Team, Complex Discharge Co-ordinator, and education team together with a friendly multidisciplinary team and a corporate training and development team. We have in house leadership programmes and work with a range of universities to ensure you can progress through academic pathways in order to support your career development.Main duties of the jobThe Matron role is a senior nursing role providing leadership and direction to nursing staff within a designated service line across Queen’s and King George Hospitals, and other satellite sites.The post holder will work in a service line triumvirate with the Clinical Lead and the Service Manager, with a particular focus on day-to-day management of nursing services across their areas of responsibility. They will be responsible for ensuring provision of high quality, safe, well-governed, productive and cost-effective services which support the Trust in delivering its strategic objectives. They will practice at an advanced level demonstrating a high level of autonomy and decision-making.About usWe’re an organisation that is getting better and better.
