OverviewTEAM LEADER
(BAGGAGE HALL SERVICES)
GRADE B4To motivate, engage and inspire staff to deliver the best possible service as well as maintain excellent
relationships with customers and authorities.ResponsibilitiesThe following responsibilities are associated with this job role:

• Supervise/allocate tasks including reporting, absences, overtime.
• Plan and deploy resources to ensure rosters meet customer and operational requirements
• Develop an open feedback culture by managing the performance of employees and ensure workplace

standards are maintained

• Ensure compliance with all Swissport corporate safety and security procedures in order to

meet/exceed regulatory standards deliver the desired customer service experience

• Maintain up-to-date manuals and documentation
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and Airport Authorities
• Encourage consistency and collaboration by ensuring clear communication at all levels. This will

include staff briefings, shift handover meetings, 121’s and completion of relevant reports

• Ensure compliance with Swissports SOPs, policies and procedures
• Ensure maximum efficiency in the operation of inbound and outbound baggage and aircraft loads
• Resolve conflict and irregularities and take appropriate action
• Responsible for maintenance of assigned equipment and materials
• Contribute/assist with local emergency plans
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and public holidays)
• Ability to speak and understand the English language
• Ability to travel to the airport at times where public transport is not available
• Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required
• Willingness to work in inclement weather
• Able to work in a manual environment and lift up to 32kg throughout a shift as required.
• Able to work as part of a team in a challenging environment
• Previous experience working in an aviation environment is desired
• Experience of leading teams
• Excellent organisational and planning skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• A full driving licence

CAREER PROGRESSION

• Satisfactory completion of 3 years continuous service (typically)
• Attainment of competency in all basic, intermediate and advanced tasks and duties
• Understanding and acceptance of the requirement to undertake additional duties and responsibilities

associated with the seniority of this role

• Further progression / promotion – subject to successful application to job vacancies arising
