Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Claims Manager (AVP) in our Claims Department for our Aviation &
Marine business.Our Aviation & Marine Claims teams service a diverse and growing range of international business. We work
through a network of brokers and directly with clients to tailor solutions to the needs of our customer base. We

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing a team of handlers for the Aviation and Marine lines of business.
• Taking a lead role in negotiating claims settlements and establishing adequate claim reserves.
• Fostering and managing relationships with clients and brokers.
• Leading claims interactions with Insurance customers and brokers.
• Managing relationships with service providers, including TPAs, outsource providers and panel lawyers

and adjusters.

• Providing colleagues with claims trends and other MI designed to continually improve the quality of

underwriting.

• Participating in the wider global Sompo claims team.
• Acting as a leader within the Claims function and mentor and help train more junior members of the

team.

• Developing Sompo’s profile and reputation within the Aviation and Marine markets.

What you’ll be accountable for:

• Claims settlement and reserving at case and portfolio level.
• Provision and interpretation of claims related management information.
• Overseeing adjusting processes with a particular focus on large losses.
• Claims market interface as required representing either individual cases or whole company.

What you’ll bring:

• A strong work ethic, high standards and accountability for your output.
• Excellent multi-jurisdictional technical claims handling experience (on both a primary and excess layer

basis).

• Enthusiasm for the development and training of team members to support their ongoing career

progression.

• Accountability for decision making.
• Honesty, integrity, and ethical behavior.
• Solid experience of London Market processes and procedures.
