Join us as a multi-disciplinary Aviation Engineering Team Lead at our MoD Boscombe Down site in Salisbury, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and many of the industry’s most brilliant minds.The RoleAs an Aviation Engineering Team Lead, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary, acting as a senior leader within an incredibly dynamic and innovative area of the business. You will support work within our unique Aviation Engineering Centre (AEC); an industry leader for aircraft modification, test and evaluation, design, production and flight-test capability.Day-to-day, you will:

  • Provide key leadership to diverse teams of engineers, each specialising in different engineering disciplines to successfully plan, execute and deliver complex projects or products
  • Deliver key leadership and line management capability to a diverse team of multi-disciplinary engineers
  • Ensure that your colleague’s skills are being effectively utilised
  • Be responsible for the delivery of complex projects, which are key to the AEC
  • Develop an effective environment that facilitates vibrant and collaborative working within the team
  • Delivering programs by performing a variety of project, bid and investment tasks and providing technical expertise and an experienced engineer

This role is a full-time position based at our Boscombe Down site with some flexible working options.Essential experience of the Aviation Engineering Team Lead:

  • Extensive engineering leadership and management experience
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and previous experience developing engineering capability
  • An awareness or appreciation of Systems Engineering / Project Management principles to support the delivery of complex projects from concept to completion
  • Demonstrable experience working within the Aerospace Engineering industry and Technical Leadership background
  • Awareness of civilian and or military aircraft platforms and relevant regulations

Qualifications for the Aviation Engineering Team Lead:

  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent experience within a relevant role
  • Aircraft Modification Certification (Part 21 / DAOS)
