Audience Analyst in NSW, Australia

What’s the role?

Reporting to the Head of Audience, support audience insights & analytics for news.com.au and other ad supported lifestyle sites

• Using a suite of data analytics tools and resources, uncover a deep strategic understanding of audience behaviour on the news.com.au and other ad supported sites and apps to drive competitive advantage today and for future.

• Develop insights and reporting that enables the Product, Design, Content, Marketing and Sales teams to understand audience acquisition and engagement drivers and optimise the performance of product features, content, marketing and sales activities

• Develop and refine news.com.au’s target audience strategy providing the business with an understanding of our current audience as well as audience growth opportunities.

• Be a collaborative operational and strategic thinker that provides objectivity to inform better decision making across product, content, marketing, content, sales, technology, commercial, and operations by providing actionable audience analytics and insights.

• Work with different business units to facilitate delivery of audience KPIs such that overall commercial objectives for the business are maximised.

Who are you?

• 3-5 years’ experience as a digital data/insights analyst

• Proficiency with Excel (PivotTables, vlookup/hlookup, match/index, OLAP cubes etc) and PowerPoint

• Experience with Adobe Analytics (Omniture) or other web analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics)

• Experience with Tableau and SQL would be an advantage

• Understanding of digital product and metrics

• Ability to determine requirements, extract data, and analyse it to draw insights

Desirable

• Experience of being part of a large consumer facing business (working for a media organisation a plus)

• Digital media knowledge
