The Banking & Insurance industries face huge challenges from changing regulation and reporting requirements. Our core audit teams work alongside highly skilled specialists including Treasury, Actuarial, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Aviation Finance, Pensions and Regulatory teams. Most of our clients are based in Dublin, typically near the city centre or within the IFSC.Responsibilities:As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:Responsibility for leading audit teams;Planning of audit – timing, staffing and structure;Liaising closely with clients in relation to planning and closing meetings, and discussing business developments generally; Co ordinating the execution of the audit including the completing and reviewing of audit work papers;Researching and resolving technical queries from clients.Reviewing and finalising financial statements.Monitoring the development of seniors and trainees and playing an active role in the performance appraisal process.Participating in the delivery of training courses to staff; andGeneral administration, including working capital managementUse feedback and reflection to develop self awareness, personal strengths and address development areas.Delegate to others to provide stretch opportunities and coach to help deliver results.Develop new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problemsUse a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in business area.Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance.Share relevant thought leadership.Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing others.Able to read situations and modify behavior to build quality, diverse relationships.Education/Professional Qualifications:Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent from a recognised international accounting institutionAt least 3 years practice accounting experience in a Big 4 firm or other international accounting firm.Investment Management experience is essentialDetailed understanding of Irish GAAPKnowledge of US GAAP/ SEC and International Accounting Standards would be an assetBusiness Acumen – use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the market and utilise this information to assist your clients in making innovative business decisions.Relationship management – ability to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality, diverse relationships.Creative – demonstrate an ability to contribute to new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.Enthusiastic team player with a passion to coach and encourage others to achieve their potential.Ambitious – demonstrate strong commitment to personal learning and development.Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.Unlock your potential with PwC IrelandWe believe that challenges are better solved together.
