Our clients are currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to become a part of their Capital & Estates Department in the North West.This is a 1-year contract role with great potential for extension and future permanency.The Capital and Estates department provides a range of professional, technical, project management, property, Fire & Safety and related services in respect of the procurement, development, operation and maintenance of the health service’s physical infrastructure – including buildings, plant and equipment. These services include design, specification, project management, supervision and procurement associated with major and minor capital building and refurbishment works, infrastructural risk and asset management, property services, fire, health and safety issues, energy, and sustainability.Benefits

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of comprehensive brief for the proposed major and minor capital projects.
- Supervise staff and contractors in the implementation of the agreed program.
- Prepare budgets for the carrying out of the proposed Minor & Major Capital work program’s and ensuring that projects are within agreed budgets
- Comply with regulatory requirements including permission, licenses, certificates and approvals.
- Evaluate environmental infrastructural risk issues & develop procedures to manage risks.
- Assessing the energy efficiency standards in premises in accordance with current standards and regulations.
Requirements:
- Hold a level 8 (or higher) in Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) major academic award in Architecture, Engineering, or Surveying accredited by a professional relevant institute.
OR
- Have a full membership of the following relevant profession:
– Society of chartered Surveyors in Ireland– Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors– Engineers Ireland– Royal Institute of Architects of IrelandAND
- Have had at least five years of relevant experience in planning, design, project management, or construction of buildings or the installation or maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and heating services of such buildings.
Knowledge and Experience:
- A desirable candidate will have a high level of expertise and experience regarding the construction of buildings and building services.
- ideally, candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of the maintenance requirements.
- Candidates must have a strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislations.
- Must have excellent leadership and teamwork skills.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the team, and facilitate training for team members.
