We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced materials/stores individual to join our team at Australia’s largest hotel.

Located adjacent to Darling Harbour in Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD), Hyatt Regency Sydney is a haven of relaxation for the business or leisure traveler. As Sydney’s largest premium hotel, the hotel boasts 878 guestrooms, multiple dining experiences and event spaces. The hotel offers more than 3,700 sq m of sleek meeting and event space in the heart of the city featuring two spacious ballrooms with views of Darling Harbour and 22 additional meeting rooms.

The Role

As the Assistant Manager – Purchasing, you will assist the Procurement Manager with the daily operations of the loading dock and Purchasing team. In this role, you will hold responsibility for coordinating the purchasing requirements of all Hotel departments in a timely and cost effective manner. You will be responsible for maintaining and recording hotel wide inventory and for providing a high level of logistic and materials support to the wider team. In the absence of the Procurement Manager, you will represent and lead the Purchasing team.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • An eye for detail and accuracy

  • Experience with BirchStreet software systems is preferred

  • Ability to obtain a forklift license and operate a pallet jack as needed

  • Experience leading and supporting a small team

  • Hotel-wide inventory knowledge

  • A sharp eye for detail and accuracy

  • Experience dealing with external stakeholders

  • Proven ability to manage conflicting deadlines

  • Previous experience in a similar role

This is a full time role, with working hours from 7am. Saturday shifts may be required on occasion to support our operating departments. Applicants with full working rights for Australia will only be considered for this role.
