The Company Secretariat team supports the firm in delivering high quality secretarial services and finding pragmatic solutions to governance and secretariat related issues. Working closely with the Senior Assistant Company Secretary and Company Secretary, the role holder will have exposure to a broad remit of company secretarial and governance work and will have the opportunity to help enhance the effectiveness of governance processes and leverage technology to build a better working world, This role presents an exciting learning opportunity within a large, dynamic and interesting highly regulated firm.Your key responsibilities
This is a new exciting and dynamic role within the UK Company Secretariat, where the individual will:

  • report to a Senior Assistant Company Secretary;
  • support the Senior Assistant Company Secretary at a number of Board committees; have responsibility for a number of forums;
  • Assist in fulfilling company secretarial compliance obligations for the EY UK subsidiaries; and
  • have other responsibilities, including various governance projects, including drafting sections of the firm’s Transparency Report and providing formal governance advice.

To qualify for the role you must haveWe are seeking an individual who is keen to develop their career, governance knowledge, skills and experience in a regulated business environment. They are likely to have 2+ years relevant experience, interested in studying towards the Chartered Governance Institute (CGi) exams or equivalent and will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Some knowledge of company secretarial practice;
  • Meeting support experience, having attended and managed Committee meetings in a sophisticated business environment;
  • Good written communication skills, including the ability to draft minutes with excellent attention to detail and produced to tight deadlines;
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to interact with senior stakeholders;
  • Proactive in approach to forward planning;
  • Some experience with a board portal system such as Diligent.
