Some of the other services available to customers include, bulk fuel supply, oils and lubricants, fuel equipment solutions, a fleet fuel card offering, an enticing customer loyalty program and expert advice on fuel management.

Reporting to the Logistics Team Lead, this permanent role will be based in Chevron Australia Downstream’s Corporate Office at Hamilton, Queensland. This is a position that would suit someone who enjoys transport contract management and a fast-paced environment. A strong geographical knowledge of Australia and fuel terminal infrastructure would be beneficial, along with the ability to build strong relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Contract Management

• Ensures contractors operate in accordance with the Chevron Road Transport Safety (RTS) requirements.

• Holds regular contract performance reviews with partners

• Measures contractor performance in line with KPIs

• Acts as the focal point for transport contractors working for Chevron and troubleshoots day to day operational issues, including after hours.

Cross Functional Collaboration with internal stakeholders

• Works with Fuels Supply team to ensure business continuity in all locations

• Runs tenders alongside Procurement team to find suitable contractor partners and works through the contracting process

• Ensures Customer Service team is getting consistent fleet availability from contractor partners

• Ensures Operations Administration team is getting proof of delivery in an accurate and timely fashion

• Works with Retail and C&I teams to ensure we deliver reliably for our customers

• Works with Third Party Terminals to facilitate transport contractor trucks and driver inductions

Continuous Improvement

• Identifies opportunities to streamline Order to Cash processes

• Identifies opportunities to lower unit rates and improve cost to serve

• Puts action in place to capture value for Chevron and our customers

Administration and Reporting

• Logs incidents and closes out actions in the IMPACT system

• Logs field verification activities in the Safeguard Learning Tool

• Uses SAP to check Purchase Orders are Goods Receipting and deliveries are reconciled

• Reports on progress each month against team goals and KPIs

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Safety and Compliance, particularly around Road Transport and Dangerous Goods

  • Contract Management experience

  • Strong geographical knowledge of Australia

  • Customer focused with strong problem solving skills

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders

  • An eye for detail and the ability to find ways to optimize a delivery task to lower unit costs

  • Responsive and calm under pressure

  • Understanding of the fuel industry would be beneficial
