What we are looking for
NRC is looking for an Area Programme Manager, South East to join the Myanmar mission. The role holder will be responsible for NRC’s programmatic and advocacy response, to maximise impact for affected populations, with resources available. The role will contribute to programming ambitions, prioritise hard-to-reach populations, and lead first line emergency response.

What you will do
- Strategy: programme components; preparation of the Area Office strategic plans, strategy, and annexes; and country-level strategic initiatives.
- Project Cycle Management: proposal development, budget management, reporting, integrated programming, monitoring and evaluation, etc.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: facilitating evidence-based learning and decision-making through data generated by M&E, beneficiary consultation, and the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism.
- Partnerships (20%): engagement and management (partner assessment, regular partner meetings, overseeing partner reporting, etc.).
- Advocacy & Representation: contributing toadvocacy products, and briefings and events; fostering strategic partnerships and networks; and engaging in national-level coordination mechanisms.
- Programme Quality: monitoring & evaluation, safe programming, integration, donor reporting and proposal inputs, and technical standards and tools development.
- Fundraising & Donor Engagement: strategic engagement with donor representatives and fundraising initiatives.
What you will bring
- Management experience in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Protection work experience.
- Integrated programming proficiency.
- Complex, and volatile context exposure.
- Myanmar, or South / South-East Asia, context exposure and knowledge.
- English fluency, both written and verbal.

What we offer
- Hpa-An, Myanmar duty station, subject to receiving appropriate documentation. Currently, international visas and work permits are subject to considerable delays. The successful candidate will be expected to work from home/remotely for extended periods of time.
- 24-month contract duration.
- 20% travel, approximately.
