Make your mark for patientsWe are seeking a skilled Analytical Scientist who is innovative and dynamic to join our Research team, based in our R&D hub in Braine, Belgium.About the roleThe successful candidate will be responsible for developing methods and analysing NCE’s (Novel Chemical Entities) using cutting-edge technologies including high resolution mass spectrometry and NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) spectroscopy.Who you’ll work withWork closely with cross-functional chemistry research teams and other analytical teams to support projects and provide analytical expertise.What you’ll do
- Conduct detailed mass spectrometry analyses and comprehensive NMR spectroscopy on small molecule compounds, protacs and peptides to provide accurate identification and structural composition.
- Analyze and interpret complex analytical data, providing clear and concise reports to research teams.
- Perform purifications, quality control and stability checks using LC/MS to verify the identity, composition and stability of the compounds over time.
- Develop and optimize analytical methods for chromatography, mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy to improve accuracy and efficiency of workflows
- Regularly maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of automation of analytical tools, aligning with the “lab of the future” vision.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills:
- Master/Bachelor degree with relevant 2-4 years’experience & background or PhD in analytical chemistry field.
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry is a plus
- Strong expertise in in LC/MS, high resolution mass spectrometry (MS), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and small scale chromatography.
- Experience in independent maintenance & troubleshooting of analytical techniques
- Technical Competencies: High resolution mass spectrometry (Waters), Nuclear magnetic Resonance (Bruker), Waters Masslynx software, Topspin software, Organic chemistry, Automation software technologies (Virscidian), UPLC-Mass spectrometry
- Proficiency in French (oral and written), along with a basic knowledge of English
