The role:

Opportunities exist for Analysts Level 1 (fixed term contract until Dec 2024) to join our team at our Kensington lab. As a level I Analyst, you will be directly responsible for conducting routine sample preparation and food testing. You will also conduct a wide range of test using manual, semi-automated, and fully automated techniques. If the test is automated you may be required to analyse data and report results.

Your day to day will include but is not limited to:

  • Preparing Microbiological media and standards

  • Performing basic testing and sample preparation, utilising aseptic technique

  • Assisting with writing and reviewing documentation such as laboratory methods and standard operating procedures

  • Coordinating with internal clients

  • Performing basic calibrations

What’s needed?

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:

  • Experience in Instrumental techniques is essential

  • Experience in Labware/LIMS (Desirable)

  • Understanding the principles of tests conducted

  • The ability to be an effective trainer

  • Laboratory experience preferably in food testing

Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing and the ability to meet site inductions will be a requirement of working on site.
