Your Role: As an Accountant, IV- Remote you will development and maintain accounting systems, general ledgers, assets and liability records and other financial transactions, as well as reporting of financial and statistical data. You will use advanced accounting concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Interact with all levels of staff and external constituents to resolve a wide variety of issues. 

Your work:

  • Provides, acquires and exchanges information at all levels of complexity with internal and external contacts.
  • May serve on committees and represent department.
  • Develops implements and/or maintains one or a combination of general accounting systems.
  • Team leads ensure smooth department operations and may coordinate and oversee activities of others.
  • Applies specialized accounting concepts to perform technical analyses to understand past performance and determine present and future performance and/or resource allocations.
  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues at the highest levels of complexity, ensuring internal control objectives are met.
  • Prepares proposals for improvements to internal accounting procedures and policies.
  • Evaluates, interprets and, summarize and may present reports and records for all levels of leadership.
  • Is a resource to management on complex issues or specialized functions and standards.
  • Leads team in completing regulatory findings, income and expense report filing and general ledger closing cycle.
  • Provides coaching and assistance to lower level accounting staff.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 6-7 years previous relevant work experience.
  • Strong mathematical skills needed.
  • Advanced analytical skills to effectively identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Advanced organizational skills.
  • Has excellent business writing skills.
  • Project management experience skills to accurately complete detail data assignments, understand and interpret broad operational / product / financial facilitator and negotiator concepts and their application to the business unit and CSAA IG.
  • Experience working with operational / product / financial measures and models, business planning, cost/benefit analysis, project management and senior level analysis.
  • Proficient in the use and development of operational / product / financial concepts as they apply to business unit and CSAA IG.
  • Excellent interpersonal and inter-departmental skills.
  • Advanced understanding of CSAA IG business strategy.
  • Ability to lead and provide training and guidance to others.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation experience.
  • Excellent coaching, leadership and management skills.
  • Strong understanding of CSAA IG business strategy.
  • Understanding of P and L’s and other financial reporting.
  • Ability to negotiate, collaborate across functions and deliver results through others.

CSAA Insurance Group is an equal opportunity employer. 

The national average salary range for this position is $94,000-$105,000. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $84,000 – $126,000. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 10% of eligible pay.
