Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION/OBJECTIVE:

This position is field based and will be responsible for managing an assigned customer territory and achieving agreed sales goals for the BOTOX® therapeutic range by establishing and developing effective relationships with injectors such as Neurologists & Influencers in the treatment of Neurological conditions such as Movement Disorders, and through the delivery of agreed execution measures (call activity, program implementation and effectiveness).

Some domestic and interstate travel is to be expected within this position.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Activities

  • Achieve or exceed agreed sales targets within the assigned territory.

  • Build and develop business relationships with customers.

  • Design clearly executable business plans for territory and key accounts aligned with cycle marketing strategy and promotional programs to drive rapid uptake within accounts.

  • Develop business opportunities utilising AbbVie’s selling framework with new and existing clients to build/ maintain product loyalty and increase market share. This includes the identification of KOLs and focus on building relationships and business opportunities with these customers.

  • Conduct regular business plan/sales reviews, including market share analysis and adjust strategies and tactics accordingly to ensure execution of the plans is on track.

  • Identify potential sales and marketing opportunities, communicating these to your National Sales Manager and the marketing team.

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of each customer’s current product choice and usage, and maintain account analysis profiles utilising VEEVA.

  • Keep accurate, up to date records of all customer visits and agreements, as well as maintaining other relevant customer data necessary to meet customer needs.

Therapeutic Area Knowledge

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of relevant human anatomy and how each product is best used.

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of AbbVie and competitor product range. Be able to communicate the value difference in terms of efficacy, safety, and market strategy to customers.

  • Monitor market trends through personal contact with clients, suppliers and attendance at industry association meetings and seminars. Communicate changes in competition, product availability or related matters to sales and marketing management.

Business Planning

  • Participate and contribute to business planning, marketing plan and Innovation Day workshops.

  • Develop materials and lead conference sessions at the National Sales Conference and Mid Year Sales Conference.

  • Proactively participate in or lead project teams or cross functional task groups as requested.

Business Administration

  • Meet agreed sales force call metrics.

  • Attend sales meetings, conferences, training and other work related functions as required.

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with legal and ethical requirements.

  • Manage business expenses within the budget provided.

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Successful completion of relevant tertiary qualifications within Science or Healthcare

  • Understanding of the selling cycle and territory management practices

  • Ability to learn the relevant human anatomy

Experience

  • several years experience in a specialty representative selling role working within the pharmaceutical /healthcare industry

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets

  • Knowledge of Rehabilitation/Juvenile Cerebral Palsy/Adult Spasticity advantageous
