Ref No: 2024/133 Medical Social WorkerSpecified Purpose, Full-TimeThe Medical Social Worker under the direction of the Principal Medical Social Worker will be responsible for the provision of a social work service to patients, their partners and families, on both an in-patient and outpatient basis.The successful candidate will:· Provide a direct Medical Social Work service to patients, their partners and families as assigned by the Principal Medical Social Worker· Participate in the professional assessment, management and referral of cases of suspected child abuse/neglect· Keep and maintain such written records and statistics as are part of the structure of the Social Work Department· Liaise and co-operate with other members of Hospital staff in accordance with normal social work procedures· Liaise with those members of the community and health services who are also concerned with the care and management of the patients· Participate in teaching programmes as requested by the Head Medical Social Worker· Have a flexible approach to work so that urgent cases can be facilitated as necessary· Provide locum cover for colleagues in their absence as required· Undertake continuing education and development activities consistent with the position· Undertake other duties appropriate to the post as assigned from time to time by the Principal Medical Social WorkerAll informal enquires in relation to the above should be directed to Ms Sinead Devitt, Principal Medical Social Worker at .Applications should be made via this platform and should include a current Curriculum Vitae and cover letter.Closing Date: Wednesday 30th October 2024.*Full job description available upon request from HR@ROTUNDA.ie*
