The Estates Team supports the RNLI through providing lifesaving buildings and infrastructure that support our volunteers, house our equipment and support our lifesaving service.Some of the benefits

Your RoleAs the Construction Programme Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of delivering specialist construction programmes to time, cost and quality, within Estates. Ensuring effective and standardised change management to achieve the RNLI’s multi year goals, objectives and strategic ambition with regards to land and property. Ensuring all works are delivered safely as a priority with a focus on sustainable lifecycle management.You will be tasked with focus on the following areas:

  • Producing multiyear capital programmes including financial projections for budget submissions (£30m+) and long-term planning in support of RNLI strategic objectives.
  • Ensuring that construction and infrastructure activity is prioritised, co-ordinated, demonstrates value for money and is delivered to the highest project standards and governance.
  • Demonstrating successful business case management and submission from project sponsors to the Head of Estates, Engineering and Supply Director and Executive Team
  • Tracking the benefits of the output against the organisation’s strategic objectives
  • Promoting a culture of collaboration and transparency in which people are able to freely share risks, concerns and ideas in support of the CDM regulations.
  • Responsibility for the design, implementation, and maintenance of strong, effective governance of the programme considering the wider Portfolio Office standards and processes.

About YouYou’ll be a natural leader who is able to engage with all levels of the organisation, programme team of staff and/or volunteers, senior and external stakeholders. A skilled communicator who has the ability to ensure they are committed, motivated and work effectively together to deliver the functional strategy and plans.Has proven project management and programme management experience. Is highly organised with strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and multi-task while remaining calm and professional. Has excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve project issues, mitigate risks and make the appropriate recommendations in order to maximise the benefits of the Programme.To be considered as the Construction Programme Manager you will need:Essential:

  • Essential – Degree in Construction, Building Surveying, Civil Engineering or relevant equivalent.
  • Essential – Substantial experience of project and program management of complex civil engineering projects, preferably in a marine environment
  • Essential – Excellent communication skills with and evidence of succinctly and clearly presenting complex information to a range of different stakeholders up to executive level
  • Essential – Demonstrable experience of delivering change activity and devising and implementing policy and procedure.
  • Essential – Significant knowledge & experience of the CDM Regulations.
  • Substantial experience of leading, managing, developing and/or motivating multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating across a variety of stakeholders
  • Substantial experiencing in managing performance against budgets, targets and objectives defined by programme and organisational strategies and policies.

Desirable:

  • Professional level project or programme management qualification (preferably APM)
  • Experience of change leadership and delivering programmes / projects across a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Experience influencing and negotiating at programme level
