JOB SUMMARY

Working within a small agile development team, the primary focus of this role is to develop API’s, web services and applications that support the delivery of world-renowned sports and cultural events. This role is responsible for the design and development of full-stack solutions – including both frontend and backend design and development, implementation of CI/CD pipelines and workflows and the creation of user and technical documentation for these solutions.

This position is ideal for a well-rounded developer looking to utilise modern cloud and application development processes and tools.

KEY TASKS

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support the implementation of existing products (NodeJS, Typescript, Vue3/Nuxt, AWS CDK);

  • Build modern software components that follow industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment models;

  • Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code;

  • Provide recommendations and implement UI/UX enhancements;

  • Integrate application and web frontends with API’s;

  • Communicate API requirements and changes required for frontend development;

  • Adhere to and engage with code quality and development practices;

  • Can contribute simultaneously to different projects;

  • Collaborate with other stakeholders and team members throughout the development process;

  • Creation and maintenance of documentation specifically related to software developed, including code and API documentation;

  • Efficient in time management and task prioritising;

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.

    Qualifications & Skills:

  • A passion to solve problems and learn new skills;

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related experience;

  • Strong understanding of HTML, Javascript and CSS and how to apply them within the context’s of Single Page Applications;

  • Comfortable implementing User Interfaces using modern frontend frameworks (e.g. Vue3/Nuxt, preferred);

  • Comfortable with Git and CI/CD practices;

  • While not essential, an interest or experience in the live event/theatre industry would be an advantage;

    Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in modern programming languages (NodeJS, Typescript preferred);

  • Experience in cross-platform development;

  • Experience in agile development methods (Scrum, Kanban, etc)

  • Experience with GraphQL and REST web services, WebSockets or other network communication protocols;

  • Experience with cloud and serverless development process, including AWS and AWS CDK or Serverless;
