As part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) you will provide specialist assessment and intervention to offenders at in prison. You will promote active engagement in meaningful occupations and facilitate the skills development and independence of patients. The postholder will work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals in prison in contributing to the development and delivery of safe, effective care, while also holding care co-ordination responsibility for a clinical caseload.Main duties of the jobManage a complex clinical caseloadWork as a member of the multi-professional team and proactively support the NHSE&I safe staffing initiativeLead on the development of evidence-based OT practiceProvide OT specific assessment & interventions via groups & individual work related to self- care, work and leisureLead on service developmentLead and participate in research/audit/quality improvement activitiesSupervise the work of junior staff including OT students on clinical placementContribute to and carry out risk assessment and management plansProvide specialist OT advice to the multi-professional teamWork independently without direct supervisionBe an OT specialist and have in-depth knowledge of OT assessment and interventions for the offendergroupContribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust wide OT serviceWork within the social inclusion and recovery agendaAbout usOxleas offers a wide range of NHS healthcare services to people in community and secure environment settings.
