Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for a Global Procurement Lead – Market Research/Data & Europe Procurement Impact who is strategic, adaptable and collaborative to join our Procurement Department, based in our HQ in Brussels, Belgium.About the roleThis role is comprised of 2 dimensions. The Market Research/Data Category Lead is responsible for developing and executing global category strategy, managing supplier relationships, and driving procurement performance aligned with business goals. The Procurement Business Partner for Europe Business Unit (EU Procurement Impact) focuses on ensuring that Procurement contribute to business strategy for UCB Europe business, fostering strong relationships within UCB Business Partners.Both roles emphasize the importance of collaboration, continuous improvement, and leveraging digital tools to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.Who you’ll work withYou will build strong partnerships with internal teams and stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives and to deliver patient & shareholder value across all dimensions of Procurement (Efficiencies, Risk Management, Innovation, Sustainability, Speed to Market, User Experience).What you’ll do
- Manage a Global Team (2 direct reports) and Network and collaborate with other Global Category Leads to develop and execute global category strategy to optimize commercial leverage, mitigate risks, and enhance sustainability.
- Be a member of the Global Marketing & Selling Procurement Team within UCB Global Procurement.
- Gain market/industry intelligence, identify trends, and analyze the competitive landscape to assist strategic decision-making.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and lifecycle management of contracts.
- Oversee end-to-end spend performance and drive continuous improvement across processes and systems.
- Understand UCB’s European Business strategy and ensure Global Procurement’s strategies and objectives contribute to the European business.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
- Ideally the candidate will hold a MSc (or equivalent) with a minimum 10 years of experience in similar strategic Procurement role.
- Operational and/or academic background for the spend portfolio under assignment.
- Present complex data and procurement strategies in a compelling, relatable, and impactful manner to influence stakeholders and drive alignment.
- Proficiency in procurement systems, analytics, and emerging technologies to enhance decision-making, identify efficiencies, and drive innovation.
- Analytical and strategic thinking to assess risks, anticipate challenges, and develop robust, forward-looking procurement strategies.
- A team-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills to foster partnerships across diverse functions, geographies, and cultural teams.
- Technology/Digital savviness and experience. Ability to incorporate technology in all aspects of Procurement work to enhance results.
- A healthy dissatisfaction with the status quo and the ability to influence business decisions through information, knowledge and data coupled with a healthy balance of emotional and intelligence skills.
