The Communications Fractional Support Consultant will support the Director of Communications with a range of communications needs, ensuring the organization’s internal and external communications are aligned with its strategic goals. This role involves content creation to deliver high-quality, timely, and impactful communications.

Scope of Work

Deliverables:

  • Develop and publish high-quality, engaging content across digital platforms, including newsletters, websites, blogs, and social media, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and organizational goals.
  • Develop, edit, and curate content in the form of social media posts, blogs, email campaigns, and website content as assigned.
  • Implement upgrades in Campaign Monitor by:
  • Develop up to 3 email welcome series using Campaign Monitor, tailored to specific audiences and personas.
  • Review integration between Campaign Monitor and Salesforce. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure integration is updating correctly and data is captured accurately in both platforms.
  • Create up to 3 additional email templates in Campaign Monitor, including template for weekly Member Bulletin.
  • Update all forms in Campaign Monitor to include refreshed design and data collection.
  • Send email campaigns by building emails with approved content, gaining approvals, and sending to approved audiences.
  • Additional work as needed for the duration of the project.
  • Develop story bank of content for February, March, and April monthly organizational newsletters.
  • Enable NetHope to efficiently use Canva for design projects by:
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develop clear, accessible set of SOPs for all staff to follow when using Canva for different types of communications (social media posts, newsletters, email headers reports, presentations, etc.)
  • Include training instructions on using Canva throughout the organization, file management, version control, and how to integrate branding elements consistently.
  • Approval workflows
  • Brand Guidelines and Canva Template Creation:
  • Assess current design needs.
  • Review existing brand guidelines.
  • Update brand kit in Canva.
  • Create a set of customizable, easy-to-use branded templates for common documents organized by content type (as approved by Communications Director)
  • Ensure templates are user-friendly for staff with varying levels of design experience.
  • Add examples of past content in Canva
  • Add library of approved photos for use in Canva
  • Offer training and guidance on best practices for design, content creation, and consistency.
  • Provide comprehensive event communication support for the NetHope Global Summit, including:
  • Launch the 2025 NetHope Global Summit website, updating event website content and visual elements and refresh design in alignment with 2025 look and feel.
  • Compile list of all required assets and specifications for 2025 website, Attendee Hub and App.
  • Support the Director of Communications in securing in-kind media sponsors.
  • Identify potential in-kind media sponsors and contacts for outreach.
  • Develop outreach materials and benefits.
  • Create draft agreement.
  • Craft engaging content and develop promotional campaign February-June 2025 inclusive of email and social media content.
  • Develop social media advertising strategy.
  • Identify paid marketing opportunities to increase in-person ticket sales.
  • Support the Director of Communications in developing additional marketing and communications strategy.
  • Update NetHope website content regularly, including blogs, resources, and program materials, ensuring relevance and alignment with audience needs.
  • Weekly progress reports and handover transition documentation will be required.
  • Participate in regular communication meetings and team communication via Slack and other mediums.

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing, editing, design, and content creation skills.
  • Proficiency in digital tools such as Campaign Monitor, Canva, Slack, WordPress, and social media platforms.
  • Experience in project management and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with communications analytics and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Availability to work during Eastern Time Zone hours.

Project Timeline:

  • This is a remote, contractor position with an expected workload of 20 hours per week from February 17 – April 18, 2025. Some additional hours of preparation should be anticipated at the end of the contract in April 2025 to transition portfolio to staff.

  • Availability to work during Eastern Time Zone hours.

  • January 20-31, 2025
