Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for an early career Computational Modeler who is dynamic and innovative, to join us in our Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) team, based in Slough, UK or Braine, Belgium.About the roleWe are seeking an early career computational modeler to join our Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) team who is motivated to advance the discovery of small molecule therapeutic candidates using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), for neurology and immunology.Who you’ll work with

  • You will work closely with project teams who are committed to deliver therapeutic candidates for patients who need them.
  • Your fellow CADD colleagues to collectively develop and apply computational tools for improved design of therapeutic molecules.
  • You will collaborate with members from Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, Structural Biology, DMPK, Safety, Data Sciences and IT.

What you’ll do

  • Discover drugs in neurological and immunological indications using digital technologies, AI and ML.
  • Work together with colleagues within CADD and multidisciplinary teams, responsible to drive holistic compound design for various projects.
  • Support AI and ML technology development, acquisition and application in therapeutic projects.
  • Deliver high quality compound designs to small molecule and peptide therapeutic projects.
  • Actively engage in the development of innovative technologies with a focus around AI and ML for ligand-based and structure-based design.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills:

  • A PhD (or equivalent) in chemistry, computational chemistry, modern machine learning methods applied to chemistry/biology, molecular modeling, physics, pharmacy or a related field is required.
  • 1-5 years’ experience post PhD in pharma/biotech or an academic position, applying AI and ML to enable therapeutic small molecule design.
  • Must be able to work cross functionally and collaboratively.
  • Ability to influence and impact beyond immediate area of responsibility.
