Alecto Recruitment are currently representing a Gas Detection Distributor, who are now looking to appoint a Service Technician to work a hybrid role, with time split in the Woking based Workshop and out in the field.This is a unique opportunity well suited to an experienced Field Service Engineer who is looking to spend less time on the road and move a little more in house, albeit not all of the time.Formed over 25 years ago, my client pride themselves as a company dedicated to the supply, installation, service and support of both portable protection and fixed monitoring solutions and employ a team of experts who have extensive knowledge in providing the latest technologies to a diverse range of industries with the Gas Detection market.The Role:As Service Techncian, you will operate in a hybrid office / mobile role, covering London and the Home Counties when in the field and from the Woking office when in house, working on Fixed Gas Detection systems with full training on offer.Responsible for a planned maintenance schedule to include service, maintenance, repair and calibration to a wide variety of manufacturers such as Crowcon, BW Technologies, Honeywell, RAE Systems, Industrial Scientific, and Analox, you will manage your own diary to ensure maximum efficiency.Duties will also include:
- Preparing method statements/risk assessment and completion of job sheets.
- Booking servicing and commissioning projects
- Administration duties such as time sheet completion, job sheets, expenses, mileage sheets, mobile stock records
- Email Management
The Candidate:To be considered for this role, you will be an experienced Service Engineer used to managing your own time and happy travelling between sites day to day.Preferably you will have good knowledge of Fixed Gas detection or Portable Gas detection equipment, although experienced service engineers from other industries will also be considered, with transferable industries to include; Electrical, Fire Alarm, Intruder alarm, CCTV, Telecoms, Audio Visual or similar.Full training will be provided on site and in house as necessary but experience as a service engineer is essential.Preferable qualifications:
- CSCS health and safety card (candidates will be considered without on the basis the company would send you on course immediately)
- Asbestos Awareness,
- IPAF card
- Electrical qualifications such as C&G or 18th Edition
