JOB SCOPE:
The Business Controller, Transform is responsible for integrating financial management with business strategy, ensuring financial health, and supporting sustainable growth and profitability of the organization. This role will also manage all other Controllers within the organization.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Controller, Transform is responsible for overseeing controller activities for all TransformCo business units (Home Services, Brands, Retail, etc.) in accordance with US GAAP, financial reporting and operations. This position is also responsible for being familiar with all Company operations, transaction types, and proposed initiatives to determine proper accounting.

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the controllership function across all Business Units having full responsibility over P&L and balance sheet (Home Services, Brands, Retail etc.); Implements Balance Sheet risk assessment process across Business Units
- Oversees the revenue recognition process for all business units, ensuring accurate recognition of cost of sales, effective margin management, and control of operating expenses; Collaborates closely with the Technical Accounting team to resolve complex accounting issues and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Drives operational excellence for Business Unit related financial processes and establish and continuously improve processes and controls, together with driving scalability through automation across high growth Business Units
- Leads efforts in automating processes for standard financial reporting across Business Units
- Implements and leads financial analysis process for P&L and Balance Sheet by business unit, including variance analysis and trend analysis, to support decision-making and provide insights to senior management
- Effectively presents financial results and insights to senior management and other key stakeholders in Financial review meetings
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key internal stakeholders (BU CFO’s and Operational teams), coordinating audit activities, and ensuring efficient and successful audit processes
- Leads, drives, and oversees special projects, which include integration of accounting operations, process improvement, and profit improvement
- Ensures the completion of the monthly reporting process, including accounts receivable reporting, travel reporting, Office expenses, business specific reporting, ad hoc reporting, item cost exception reports, vendor terms reports, promotional expense reporting, and subsidy reporting through the use of Business Objects
- Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree
- Over 10 years of related experience
- Up to 25% travel
- 18 years of age or older
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Minimum 12 years of Accounting and Controllership experience with at least 5 years as a Business Unit Controller/Company Controller in large or medium sized public and private companies across diverse sectors (technology, services, retail, manufacturing, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral with Senior Management and external contributors including, auditors, consultants, etc,
- Track record of leading and coaching teams (~10 headcount)
- Track record of partnering effectively with different levels of management across the business units (Operations, Divisional Finance)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Analytical mindset and a track record of making data-driven decisions
- High degree of integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Public accounting experience / CPA a plus
- Experience with Netsuite ERP is a definite advantage
