  • Ensure the reliability and continuous operation of Ivanti Cloud services through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Security, and Support teams to deploy and manage customer-facing SaaS web products in AWS and Azure.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues across diverse environments, including Linux, Windows, and Kubernetes.
  • Automate operational tasks to improve efficiency and streamline processes using modern automation tools.
  • Document procedures and create training material to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, providing 24/7 coverage and support as needed.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance application performance and security through observability, chaos engineering, and other advanced practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and contribute to the team’s continuous improvement efforts.

To Be Successful in The Role, You Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-based SaaS platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Expertise in designing and managing fault-tolerant Linux and Windows web infrastructures.
  • Strong proficiency in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Ability to code in languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., DataDog, New Relic) and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a distributed team environment.

Roadmap for Success

  • First 90 Days:
  • Complete onboarding and training to familiarize yourself with Ivanti’s culture, tools, and processes.
  • Review existing Ivanti Cloud services architecture and current operational procedures.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with team members across Product Engineering, Security, and Support departments to understand their roles and challenges.
  • Gain hands-on experience with our cloud environment (AWS and Azure) and internal tools.
  • Begin contributing to the triage of incidents and support tickets.
  • Automate a simple, repetitive task to demonstrate your problem-solving abilities.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings to become an integrated part of the team.
  • Set up monitoring tools (e.g., DataDog, New Relic) to familiarize yourself with our observability practices.
  • First 6 Months:
  • Take ownership of specific components within the Ivanti Cloud services, focusing on reliability and performance enhancements.
  • Lead the implementation of a new automation process that improves efficiency across the team.
  • Participate actively in the on-call rotation, bringing innovative solutions to reduce incident response times.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve complex service-related issues.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for team members on best practices for troubleshooting Linux and Windows systems.
  • Contribute actively to documentation efforts, ensuring processes and procedures are well-documented and up-to-date.
  • Start to build relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and how Site Reliability Engineering can support them.
  • First 12 Months:
  • Lead a project that enhances the continuity and reliability of cloud services through chaos engineering initiatives.
  • Establish clear KPIs for operational performance and reliability, regularly reporting on advancements.
  • Develop a continuous improvement plan for the Site Reliability Engineering processes and share it with leadership.
  • Mentor junior team members, offering support and guidance to foster their professional growth.
  • Engage with the community through workshops or speaking engagements to position Ivanti as a thought leader in Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices, implementing innovative solutions as appropriate.
  • Conduct a review with your manager to evaluate performance, share achievements, and discuss future goals and opportunities for advancement within Ivanti.
