Program Scheduler

Location: Artarmon, Pyrmont

We are currently recruiting a Program Scheduler to join our Broadcast Operations team who will be responsible for the curation of content across Foxtel linear and VOD platforms. Working across a variety of channels and genres, your role will be responsible for ensuring customers receive content in exciting and dynamic schedules to engage viewers and drive ratings and revenue.

Your responsibilities:

  • Create content plans across linear channels and Foxtel VOD services based on content catalogue provided by the Program Manager.

  • Work with the programming team to ensure inventory allocations for channels create optimal viewing experiences for customers.

  • Collaborate with Foxtel VOD and Binge service operators to ensure rights windows are maximised across all platforms.

  • Work with marketing to ensure priorities are highlighted through promo materials.

  • Work with on-air scheduling team to ensure all commercial, promo and timing requirements are met.

  • Ensure programming is correctly commoditised through ad sales and sponsorship by adhering to templates.

  • Provide programming information to Foxtel magazine team.

  • Manage and action amendments to programming schedules.

  • Create daily schedules for linear playout.

  • Create VOD carousels plans based on genre and channel priorities

  • Classify content and maintain classifications accreditation.

  • Run checks on all schedules to ensure there are no errors and all requirements are met prior to download.

  • Liaise with ratings teams to create dynamic schedules based on customer viewing habits.

  • Manage planning documents to forecast upcoming programming requirements

  • Suggest strategies and stunts for linear and VOD platforms.

Your experience and capability

  • 5+ years’ experience in rights management and metadata

  • Experience with curation of content for channels to maximise viewership, including strategic forward planning, themes and seasonal events, would be highly regarded

  • Experience in analysing and understanding ratings data and related research would be highly regarded

  • Experience with various rights management systems including Vimond, IBMS and Landmark

  • Strong planning and organisational skills

  • A love /passion for quality entertainment programming

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
