Our Purpose

In our Global Record to Report (RtR) Controllership Finance team in Medtronic plc. we focus on supporting the business in a compliant and ethical manner. The Principal Accountant will be responsible for DEMPE and R&D tax credit requirements for the Medtronic Irish manufacturing sites including local government and tax compliance and controls.

A Day in The Life Of:

• You will build a roadmap of continued DEMPE governance development for the Ireland Campus Sites managing IP Assets.

• Work closely with Tax and Controllership to identify changes that may impact IP valuations and assess outcomes.

• Work with Controllership and Site Finance to ensure continued best practice on IP Committee processes and data management.

• Develop plan to bring all IP committee to the DEMPE “Gold Standard”.

• You will oversee completion of various projects, including process efficiencies and other problem-solving initiatives that support strategic imperatives & business needs.

• You will ensure tax compliance in the Irish sites, including Corporation Tax, R&D tax credits.

Key Skills & Experience

• Bachelor Degree level 8 in Finance / Accounting / Business or related discipline

• Chartered accountant with >8 years of relevant experience

• Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) with Irish Tax Institute

• Demonstrated ability to lead & coach people and achieve results through others

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, financial analysis techniques & financial systems and strong track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong influence management and business partnering skills

• You are a good communicator and have an ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
