Our teams use their extensive industry expertise, domain and technical know-how to realise tangible benefits for our clients and deliver positive outcomes for society and the economy.To support the ongoing growth and success of our business we are looking for an experienced individual to join our team in Dublin as Government and Public Sector Business Development Manager. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with equally motivated and ambitious individuals both in Ireland and across our international Government and Public Sector community. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage BearingPoint’s extensive public sector capabilities and qualifications to develop new business across the central and local government, healthcare and semi-state sectors.Your role as a business development manager will include:

  • Understanding the wider Irish public sector environment and the impact and implications of legislation and directives on Government organisations and their services
  • Staying current on business and technology trends in the Irish public sector and Government policies and strategies to address them
  • Developing new trusted relationships with senior public sector leaders and stakeholders
  • Understanding the business and technology objectives of public sector organisations and identifying new opportunities for BearingPoint’s technology or consulting solutions
  • Opening up new areas of the public sector and healthcare market for BearingPoint and building a pipeline of qualified leads
  • Managing new alliance relationships and implementing agreed partnership plans to develop business
  • Being highly active and visible in the market, including at events, conferences and industry fora
  • Understanding Government procurement approaches, the service and software agreements in use and overall contracting mechanisms
  • Managing legal and commercial aspects of the business development process, including contract and sub-contract reviews and negotiation
  • Booking business and delivering against annual sales targets

Your experience should include:

  • A professional services or technology services background and a demonstrable interest and understanding of public services and Government organisations
  • An established track record in sales and business development in the Irish market
  • A network and senior relationships in the Irish public and private sector and with technology and business service providers
  • Practical experience in developing business and sales in areas such as:
  • Strategy and business consulting services
  • Technology consulting services
  • Systems integration and software development
  • Managed technology services
  • Business applications such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, ServiceNow or Salesforce
  • A knowledge of some of the following sectors would also be an advantage:
  • Health and social care
  • Housing and environment
  • Transportation and road safety
  • Justice and policing
  • Property assessment and valuation
  • Local government services
  • Climate action and sustainability

Your competencies and skills will include:Advanced capabilities in relation to:

  • Developing business and proactively identifying new opportunities for BearingPoint’s solutions and services, including a strong commercial acumen
  • Building and managing relationships with senior level stakeholders in public sector organisations, with business and technology partners and within BearingPoint
  • Relevant expertise, know-how and understanding in relation to the public sector ecosystem and the organisation of Government services
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal, including in relation to securing meetings, delivering clear and differentiated messages and following-up business leads

In addition, you will be expected to demonstrate strong proficiency in areas including:

  • Managing and prioritising work across competing demands
  • Problem solving abilities, encompassing people, process and technology aspects, and setting the direction for their resolution
  • Sharing knowledge and leveraging information, qualifications and best practices from across our international network, and the market, for the benefit of our clients
  • Adapting to change in a fast-moving consulting and technology environment
  • Leading and collaborating with different internal teams across our organisation, and with external parties
  • Acting as a role model in the understanding of our business and organisation, building our practice and maintaining our culture
  • Developing your own capabilities proactively through formal and unstructured learning

Our expectation is that suitable candidates will have at least 12-15 years of experience working in a sales or business development role with a consulting, professional services or technology background.
