The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading teams and driving operational success in a fast-paced environment.The Role
The Head of Distribution will lead and develop a Distribution Centre, managing commercial aspects to maximize profitability and operational efficiency. Collaborating with Operations, Procurement, and Finance, the role ensures effective management of logistics, stock control, and compliance with operational policies and procedures. The appointee will lead a team including supervisors, stock controllers, and transport managers, and will work closely with the senior management team to implement cost-effective solutions, improve customer service, and drive profitability.Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a best-in-class distribution centre.
  • Oversee stock management, replenishment, and budget alignment with sales targets.
  • Minimize overheads and waste, and implement stock loss prevention measures.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards.
  • Lead stock take management and ensure financial obligations are met.
  • Drive business development through customer engagement and service.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard staff in collaboration with HR.
  • Maintain high safety standards through regular training and compliance checks.

The Person
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in wholesale distribution, specifically in the consumer goods sector. They will be a strategic and operational leader with a proven ability to mentor teams, drive results, and deliver on business objectives. Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective business relationships. The candidate must demonstrate financial acumen, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.Key Attributes:
