Supply Chain Manager – County Cavan.The supply chain team comprises sourcing, planning, warehouse, and procurement.
The Supply Chain and Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain operations, including sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and logistics. This role ensures that products and materials are acquired at the best possible cost, quality, and delivery timeline to meet company objectives. The manager also collaborates with various departments to streamline processes and optimise supply chain efficiency, all while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:
Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery reliability.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes for the company. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnership and continuous improvement.
Supply Chain Management:
Oversee and manage end-to-end supply chain processes including demand planning, procurement, transportation, and inventory control.
Monitor and forecast inventory needs to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and products to meet production and customer needs.
Collaborate with production, sales, and finance teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Inventory Management:
Optimize inventory levels to balance carrying costs with production requirements.
Implement inventory control processes and systems to track stock movement and manage obsolete items.
Monitor warehouse performance and collaborate with logistics teams to enhance warehouse operations.
Supplier & Vendor Management:
Continuously assess supplier performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
Develop and maintain a supplier evaluation system that includes key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, cost, and delivery.
Lead supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
Cost Optimization & Risk Management:
Identify opportunities for cost savings through process improvements, supplier consolidation, and negotiations.
Analise risks within the supply chain and implement strategies to mitigate potential disruptions. Work to streamline supply chain processes to reduce waste and enhance operational efficiency.Team Leadership:
Manage and lead the procurement and supply chain team, providing mentorship and training. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
Set performance objectives for team members and evaluate performance regularly.
Reporting & Data Analysis:
Prepare regular reports on key supply chain metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
Utilize data analytics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Present insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.Experience & Qualifications requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g. CPSM, CPIM) is a plus.
Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role. Manufacturing environment essential.Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data and trends for decision-making. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
