What’s the role?

Sky News Australia are looking for a Video Journalist in Perth to shoot and report on important news stories.

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting live on location multiple times a day and on multiple channels.

• Filing pre-recorded packages, looklives, interviews and feature stories.

• Shooting media conferences, interviews and original content to a high standard.

• Manage a diary of Perth-based stories and ensure coverage is effectively communicated to senior editorial staff.

• Pitch original news ideas and coverage treatments.

• Ensuring all content meets legal requirements.

• Liaising with Sky News’ Office Manager to help manage the day-to-day administration in the Perth Bureau.

Who are you?

• Experience in news reporting, including the ability to gather, assess and comprehend relevant news information and present it in an informative manner for our audience.

• Ability to write, produce and edit news content for on-air use.

• Effective communication skills.

• Solid understanding of media law.
