Consultant Post in Community General Adult PsychiatryHours: 37.5 hours per week / 10 sessionsAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team at the South Ceredigion Community Mental Health Team. Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Consultant to join colleagues in a very dynamic and forward looking mental health service.Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will provide clinical expertise and strategic leadership as we look to develop our mental health services to meet the population needs of Hywel Dda UHB.About usHywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. - On Specialist Register with GMC or CCT due within 6 months of interview date
- Or CESR or equivalent European Qualifications for Specialist Registration
- MRCPsych or FRCPsych or other

- Approved Clinician Status
- Section 12 approved

- Appropriate Higher Degree e.g. MD, PhD or MSc or equivalent
Clinical ExperienceEssential
- Broad based experience in General Adult Psychiatry
- Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
- Knowledge and participation in CPD
- Able to apply knowledge
- Safe and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of communicating bad news
- Meet the requirement of the GMC’s “Good Medical Practice”
