As a Podiatrist, Clinical Specialist in Diabetes the post holder will have the vision and drive to bring professionals in the Regional referral area from different areas of healthcare together to provide optimal diagnoses and treatment and to improve outcomes for those with diabetes foot complications.The Podiatrist, Clinical Specialist will be responsible for leading the development and provision of a high quality service to diabetes patients at risk of DFU and those patients who are in-remission from DFU. They will work closely with Senior Podiatrist (Diabetes) and the Staff Grade Podiatrist (Diabetes) as well as Foot Protection Team. It will be necessary to connect and work closely with the multidisciplinary foot team podiatrist to promote integrated working within the podiatry profession; to enable integrated working between the foot protection team and multidisciplinary foot team, and, to help coordinate the management of the diabetic foot in the local region. This will also facilitate and assist with CPD and learning.In this role the Clinical Specialist Podiatrist, will be responsible for the co-ordination of strategic planning and development of specialist diabetes foot services in the community setting, participation in clinical research, and collaboration in multi-centre studies on the various aspects of managing and treating the foot in diabetes.To work as part of multi-disciplinary teams in providing a quality, person-centred, evidence-based podiatry service to meet the needs of service users in the community setting.As a Podiatrist, Clinical Specialist in Diabetes the post holder will have the vision and drive to bring professionals in the Regional referral area from different areas of healthcare together to provide optimal diagnoses and treatment and to improve outcomes for those with diabetes foot complications.For further support on applying for this role please refer to:
