Roles and ResponsibilitiesLead and Manage EHS Team:
Provide leadership and direction to employees reporting directly to the EHS Manager, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and safety objectives.Implement EHS Programmes:
Develop and execute comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs to meet both legislative and corporate standards, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.Strategic EHS Guidance:
Offer expert guidance and support to management regarding EHS&E policies and strategies to ensure full compliance with licenses, legislation, and industry standards, including Best Available Techniques (BAT) and best practices. Oversee audits, assessments, surveys, and reporting.EHS&E Standards and Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with current and upcoming EHS&E regulations and recognised management standards to anticipate future requirements. Ensure the company holds valid permits and licenses relevant to its operations.Waste Management:
Establish procedures and programs to manage all waste streams in line with legislative requirements and industry best practices.Achieve KPIs:
Ensure the company meets key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives, both locally and corporately, by implementing effective EHS strategies.Integrated Management Systems:
Continuously enhance and manage the company’s integrated systems for Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, and Energy Management.Corporate Standards Integration:
Direct the integration of corporate EHS&E standards into a unified management system. This includes emergency planning, loss prevention, legal compliance, safety risk assessments (process and occupational), environmental risk management, setting targets and objectives, monitoring, communication, and auditing.Budget and Supplier Management:
Oversee EHS&E operational and capital budgets, managing services and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions for the business.EHS Programme Oversight:
Lead and manage all EHS programs and significant site projects, ensuring adequate EHS resources are allocated for new product introductions and capital expenditure requests.Process Design and Workplace Safety:
Apply EHS&E expertise to the design or redesign of processes and workplace settings, especially for new product introductions (NPIs) and technical or product transfers.Emergency Response and Incident Management:
Develop and manage emergency response plans, occupational health services, loss prevention programs, and safety training. Ensure that all incidents are appropriately evaluated and that preventative measures are implemented.Crisis and Business Continuity Management:
Actively participate in local and national business continuity planning and crisis management teams, ensuring the company’s preparedness for emergencies.QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health (Level 8) or a related discipline is required.Experience:
