Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist.The EHS Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations while promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety practices, including machine safety, and will work to reduce workplace risks and hazards, implement safety training programs, and ensure that safety protocols are followed.Experience with machine safety or industrial equipment safety is highly desirable to support the development and maintenance of safe operations in a manufacturing or production environment.Key Responsibilities:EHS Program Management:
Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.Safety Audits & Inspections:
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections of work environments, machinery, and equipment to identify potential hazards. Ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked.Machine Safety Oversight:
Assess and oversee machine safety protocols, including guarding, emergency stops, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and other related safety systems. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.Incident Reporting & Investigation:
Lead investigations of workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, such as OSHA, EPA, and others. Maintain required documentation and records.Training & Development:
Develop and deliver training programs to employees on various safety topics, including hazard communication, machine safety, PPE (personal protective equipment), and emergency response procedures.Environmental Management:
Support environmental compliance efforts, including waste management, emissions tracking, and spill prevention measures. Coordinate environmental reporting and audits as required.Continuous Improvement:
Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in safety and environmental practices by evaluating and implementing new technologies, procedures, and best practices.Collaboration:
Work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into daily operations and project planning.Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
