As such, Cork Qualcomm policy allows our employees to blend short-term remote working with annual leave.Job FunctionThis is a senior position on the data center networking team responsible for architecture, design, and implementation of Qualcomm’s world-wide data center networks and load balancing architectures. We are looking for an expert in current data center networking and load balancing technologies, including but not limited to routing, switching, application delivery control/load balancing, cloud networking (public and private), virtualization, orchestration, and automation.This position is expected to be a technology evangelist and advocate regarding forward-looking data center networking technologies such as cloud networking, network virtualization, and automation.Skills/ExperienceRequired:

• 5+ years of experience working in large heterogeneous networking environments
• 5+ years of working experience designing and implementing leaf and spine data center networks
• 2+ years of working experience with application delivery controllers including Local and Global (GSLB) load balancers

• Expert level knowledge of PKI/SSL, SSL Offload, and DNS as it relates to application load balancing
• Experience with HAProxy/NGINX, AWS ELB/ALB, OpenStack or Kubernetes load balancing a plus
• Expert level knowledge and experience with protocols/technologies such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP, QoS, vPC/MLAG/CLAG, VXLAN
• Experience and expertise with TCP/IP operations and troubleshooting
• Experience with individual, group and vendor-assisted troubleshooting
• Experience working in data center IT operations and high-risk networks
• Working experience with Windows, Linux, and VMware

Preferred:

• Experience with HPC Grid data center environments
• Experience in GPU ethernet network architecture and design
• Experience in NetDevOps with tools such as Ansible and/or Python automation

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement and operate Qualcomm’s global data center networks
• Design, implement and operate Qualcomm’s local and global load balancing architectures
• Develop and maintain technical documentation
• Adhere to corporate change management policies and practices
• Lead evaluations and implement new technologies
• Mentor junior engineers, support teams, and customers
• Troubleshoot complex and high-risk data center networks and load balanced applications
• Perform on-call responsibilities
• Perform upgrades, enhancements and configuration changes as needed
• Provide support for Qualcomm’s global data center networks
• Provide networking and load balancing support for Qualcomm’s data center applications, servers and various operating systems.
• Work with cross-departmental and cross-functional teams
• Learn and deploy next-generation networking technologies
• Closely collaborate with NetOps/DevOps team on network automation and orchestration

Education RequirementsBachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience

Minimum Qualifications: • 5+ years of Networked Systems-related work experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
OR
7+ years of Networked Systems-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.Physical Requirements:

• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.
