Through top scientific research, we push back boundaries and set a course for the future – a future that you can help to shape.The Department of Communication Studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences is looking for a talented and motivated full-time (100%) postdoctoral scholarship holder or senior researcher in the field of strategic communication and artificial intelligence for the NWA-funded project DARTBAC ( ).The position is embedded within the research group Media & ICT in Organisations & Society (MIOS). MIOS is dedicated to the scientific study of individuals’ uses of media and digital technologies in interpersonal relations and in interaction with organizations, to gain insight into computer-mediated communication, its applications and effects, and to pursue evidence-based communication strategies, instruments and policy.Position

• You will assist in an ongoing research project on developing, refining, and evaluating health information spread and dissemination in social systems through computational modelling.
• You will assist the activities of the MIOS research group.
• You will fulfil a limited number of teaching activities, such as occasional guest lecturing and master thesis supervision.
• You will participate in the provision of academic services: you will represent the research group both internally and externally, help to coordinate service projects, and so on.
• You will actively work towards attracting research funding.

Profile

• You hold a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or related fields (or you will have obtained it by the time you start work) with a demonstrable interest in health communication and health applications.
• You have a strong curiosity about how AI can be used for the societal benefits.
• You are comfortable in doing research in multidisciplinary teams.
• Your research qualities are in line with the faculty and

• We offer a full-time contract as a senior researcher, or a full-time appointment as a postdoctoral scholarship holder for a period of 12 months.
