The hospital is renowned for its state-of-the-art facilities, collaborative work environment, and commitment to professional development.Role Overview:We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Medical Scientist specialising in Histopathology to join their dynamic laboratory team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and management of diseases through the examination of tissue samples, contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and specialized histopathological techniques, including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and immunohistochemistry.
  • Collaborate closely with pathologists to prepare and analyse histological samples, ensuring accurate and timely diagnosis.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with quality control and assurance standards.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new techniques and technologies in the field of histopathology.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols within the laboratory environment.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of junior staff and laboratory technicians.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory practices and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a histopathology laboratory, preferably within a hospital setting.
  • CORU Registered or at Advance Stage (Recognition Complete)
  • Proven expertise in histological techniques, including immunohistochemistry.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory quality management systems and accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 15189).
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
