Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for Test Engineer Lead / Supervisor to support the Readiness and Employment System team. This position will be a fully remote position.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product will perform to specifications. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating the product. Designs test cases for test plans and creates test scenarios in which tests are carried out. Compiles data, defines required changes and reports defects and problems that occurred during the test process. Implements and participates in the walkthrough of the product. Automated testing may be used for leveling based on hiring manager discretion.

  1. Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.

  2. Performs analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products. Develop testing procedures.

  3. Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.

  4. Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes. Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.

  5. Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

  6. Leading Test Engineers to successfully oversee the testing of the VRE PSES Contract.

  7. Manual and Automated testing of integrations, interfaces, data transfers, APIs.

  8. Testing Web Services using tools like Ready API, Postman, Wave, AMP, etc.

  9. End-to-End Software Testing Life Cycle from testing, defect logging and verification of closure of defects, Root Cause Analysis.

  10. Functional Testing (System, Regression, and User Acceptance).

  11. Database Testing using SQL queries, simple scripts.

  12. Thorough understanding of integration requirements and mapping to user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases.

  13. Using Jira for maintaining sprint test artifacts and X-RAY for Test execution.

  14. Analysis of Test results, Defect management and reporting, maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).

  15. Work experience in AWS Cloud, Exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, GitHub, etc.

  16. Proactively communicate and coordinate with various internal and external project stakeholders.

  17. Analytical and investigation skills, willingness to learn and ability to troubleshoot.

Ability to supervise a team of 3 to 5 Test Engineers.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)

  • Experience in Manual, Integration, Functional and Automated Testing.

  • Extensive Jira experience building test plans, issues and executions and creating report outputs.

  • Experience managing a team of testers.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Extensive Integration & Interface Testing experience

  • Exposure to Corporate Database, MPI, VA Profile Database, existing API services in VA network, writing simple Oracle scripts for testing.

  • Experience with VA and/or other Federal Agencies.

  • Demonstrated experience in a remote work environment.

  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience working with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), NIST-800-53 guidance, HIPAA, and HITECH Act.

  • Well versed in Agile Methodology, the VA Veteran-Focused Integration Process (VIP) project management methodology.

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $94,150.00 – USD $122,400.00 /Yr.
