Why this job matters

The Procurement Manager is responsible for the implementation of BT Group sourcing strategies through the management of procurement categories across a best-in-class sourcing organisation driving sourcing event execution, enhancing spend and sourcing analytics, contract management and administration, pipeline management, sourcing technology platform administration, sourcing business process, and reporting. 

What you’ll be doing

1. Managing the structured analyses of supplier industry, economics, and market conditions for spend under management, ensuring awareness surrounding key market indicators, commodity trends, and market intelligence, and ensuring risk mitigation.
2. Ensuring the standardisation of purchasing best practices, processes, and procedures, while staying abreast of industry trends and best-in-class behaviors.
3. Coordinating the implementation of BT Group strategies with the internal stakeholders.
4. Implementing supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives of the BT Group and division into shared services practices and sourcing strategies.
5. Driving the supplier selection process through the formal RFP (request for proposal), RFQ (request for quote) and RFI (request for information) processes.
6. Negotiating complex commercial models and contract terms with suppliers to ensure the best TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for the business.
7. Championing, continuously developing and sharing with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in the field of commercial procurement.
8. Implementing ways to improve working processes within the area of commercial procurement, sourcing strategies and communication with suppliers.
