Working arrangements: Candidates must work from Services Australia’s Canberra office for 5 days per week. (This requirement may be reviewed in the future and some flexible working arrangements may be considered).
Length of contract: 12 Months
Contract extensions: 2 x 12 months
Security clearance: Must have Negative Vetting Level 1
Rates: $110 – $140 per hour (inc. super)
The Project Managers will oversee the purpose and status of projects and ensure all project goals and timeframes are met. As a Project Manager, they will support the agency by overseeing and ensuring the high quality and consistent delivery of projects. Working under the broad direction of senior technical engineering experts, the successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing the management of the design, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of project outputs.
They will play a key role in managing key strategic stakeholders across all tiers of government to drive the implementation and integration of projects at the operational level. In performing a leadership role, the Project Managers will identify and drive innovation, manage and lead change and have an active role in contributing to and implementing the agency’s strategic direction. This position may require supporting on call when there are critical production issues.
Key duties may include, but are not limited to:

Manage, lead, and deliver projects that may have an agency wide impact.

Develop, implement, and evaluate project plans and schedules in accordance with the agency’s project management framework and consider project interdependencies.

Collaborate with staff in immediate work area and with internal and external stakeholders.

Oversee project design, governance arrangements and operational integration.

Ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget.

Report on project objectives and outputs for presentation to the executive, and oversee, plan, manage and monitor financial budgets and oversee the management of contracts, procurement, resources and expenditure.

Identify, assess, manage, escalate, report and monitor project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies
Essential Criteria

Experience and knowledge in delivering Infrastructure projects,
-
An ability to work under pressure against short timescales.

Proven track record in leading technical teams and managing cross-disciplinary technical programs, from project definition to product delivery/demonstration.
Desirable Criteria
-
Ability to contribute to agency’s continuous improvement by improving systems, processes and tools related to project management and reporting.

Excellent Stakeholder management and ability to collaborate and communicate effectively that contributes to a cross-functional team development pipeline.

Experience tracking a complex ICT project and providing support to clear blocking issues.

Familiarity with AGILE methodology and project tracking.

Ability to producing talking points, project documentation and undertake research and issue resolution independently and as directed by the Program SRO and Delivery Lead.
