Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Mid-to Senior Level BIM Specialist (Remote) for our innovative and growing Aviation Technology Department in Denver, Colorado. The Aviation Technology Department is comprised of architects, engineers, GIS specialist, and programmers serving large airport clients all over the world. This position is expected to begin as soon as possible. As a BIM Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting project teams through the application of BIM and GIS technologies as well as Digital Twin applications for large airports around the world. The BIM Specialist will leverage strong knowledge of AEC industry standards, tools, and practices to support and improve workflow collaboration and efficiencies throughout Digital Delivery including Design, Construction, Asset Management and Capital Planning.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Act as a support resource for a variety of Digital Delivery technologies.
  • Can be a resource and team member in all phases of horizontal and vertical design, construction and operation projects.
  • Maintains current knowledge of design software, industry developments in integrated practice, and other applicable techniques.
  • Devotes time to research new and upcoming technologies.
  • Assists in complex modeling setup and analysis, data management, and/or optimization for 2D-6D digital workflows.
  • Assists in coordinating support between external vendors and internal staff.
  • Support efforts in the development, testing, and implementation of digital delivery tools and services.
  • Monitoring and maintaining project-level Common Date Environment (CDE) and associated workflow (i.e., model coordination, collaboration, model federation, model health, LOD compliance, and clash management) in alignment with project scope including routine CDE validation checks for compliance to BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and project standards
  • Assessing BIM capacity & capability of the supply chain during proposal & bidding
  • Drive standardization of BIM processes and tools within the delivery teams and supply chain
  • Reviewing lead appointed parties’ BIM Execution Plans. Verifying that contractor’s BIM processes, data quality, and completeness tools have been put in place
  • Ensuring CDE workflows with respect to design management, construction management, and change control have been institutionalized at the project level to support the BIM identified use-cases
  • Support Model Review and Clash Management sessions with the Digital Delivery and AEC supply chain
  • Conducting project-specific required training and talent upskilling per identified needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and interest in BIM/3D Modeling.
  • Experience with a variety of BIM software, including but not limited to Revit, Dynamo, Civil3D Navisworks, BIM360/ACC Design Suite, Assemble, and PlanGrid.
  • Relevant work or internship experience.
  • Knowledge in building information modeling programs and applicable techniques.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite and Power BI (preferred)
  • Python Scripting
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
  • Experience with a variety of BIM software, including but not limited to Revit, Dynamo, Civil3D Navisworks, BIM360/ACC Design Suite, Assemble, and PlanGrid.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Revit API & Dynamo, as well as Grasshopper for Rhino.
  • Knowledge and experience in the disciplines within the emerging Digital Twin industry and/or Aviation industry.
  • Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Additional Information

  • Relocation assistance is potentially available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • This position is for someone living in Denver, Colorado (or moving to Denver). Work is expected to be a combination of in-office and at home remote work. Will consider remote hiring for the right candidate.
