Job Description

The position consists of managing the overall Media Strategy relative to the clients’ business across the region. This function includes completing daily tasks on core pieces of business, as well as developing and overseeing the implementation of long-term media strategies and providing strategic direction to Media Planners and Assistant Media Planners while maintaining day- to-day planning responsibilities.

The Media Supervisor will also supervise all the activities of the Media Planner (s) and/or Assistant Media Planner (s) under their charge.

Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in overall Media Strategy development.

  • Assist in digital and social strategy, ongoing digital analysis, and optimization proposals.

  • Assist Associate Media Director, as needed, on any/all projects related to Clients’ business.

  • Participate in Client presentations/TDA market and TDA Board of Director meetings, including having the “R” on all Media-related presentation materials in presentation slides.

  • Organize and manage the workflow of Planner(s) and Assistant Planner(s) to fulfill all Media planning, analysis, and scheduling requests.

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of all Media plans.

  • Develop Media Points of View as needed based on Client and Account team requests.

  • Assist in development of promotional/sponsorship initiatives.

  • Actively provide relevant information about media trends in Media to Account teams and Clients.

  • Develop and actualize flowcharts and all related documents (i.e., media budgets, post-buy analyses, value-added reports, others).

  • Responsible for annual up-front media buy authorizations/implementation, and monitoring of all Media plans/buys throughout the year.

  • Negotiate with Media vendors and provide recommendations.

  • Coordinate Media information with appropriate departments.

  • Maintain a positive working relationship with Media vendors.

  • Assist the Associate Media Director in managing relationships with agency media partners as it pertains to day-to-day activities.

  • The Media Supervisor will be expected to develop a positive relationship with each of their subordinates and provide proper and adequate training and supervision for each.

  • The position will require the Media Supervisor to build and maintain solid relations and work effectively with personnel in other Agency departments to achieve optimal results (Media, Traffic, Planning, and Finance).

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong analytic skills across all media, traditional, digital, and social.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Travel to Clients’ markets for TDA meetings as needed.

  • Five+ years of advertising agency experience is a must, as the job requires a thorough competence in advertising principles and agency functions (Media, creative, production, traffic, financials, billing, etc.)

  • An understanding of integrated communications (Direct Marketing, Public Relations, Sales Promotion, Influencer Marketing, Collateral, and Merchandising) is also required to effectively manage the account.

  • Prior experience in retail advertising is required; prior experience in the automotive category is a plus but not required.

  • A high degree of professionalism

  • A strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness is a must.

  • Must be able to respond well under pressure.

  • Ability to analyze facts and arrive at sound conclusions.

  • Good understanding, use, and interpretation of numerical data.

  • Ability to develop focused, insightful strategies and to effectively/efficiently execute tactical plans

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills are essential.

  • Exceptional meeting preparation and Client presentation skills are a must.

  • Adept ability to provide timely status reporting to Associate Media Director is a must

  • A keen ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to maintain productivity while working at an expedient pace.

  • Innate ability to organize logistics of subordinates’ tasks and keep things on track and on time is essential.

  • Ability to listen well and appropriately train subordinates is mandatory.

  • Must have good ability to properly oversee delegated tasks.

  • Must be a self-starter, quick learner, intuitive, and proactive.

  • Must be able to assume a high level of enthusiasm and an interest in furthering a career in Media.

  • Must have an outgoing and positive personality with a “nothing’s impossible” approach to daily tasks.

  • Must be a “team player” embracing the culture of the office.

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote is a must.

  • Thorough knowledge of media resources and their application to Media planning (i.e. NSI, MRI, ARB, Scarborough, IMS, etc.)

  • Excellent computer knowledge – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Media Ocean, Media Tools, IMS.

  • Mastery of Workhorse software is a plus.
