Title: People Services AssistantFunction: HRLocation: BoltonSalary: £25,800Are you an experienced administrator / people services assistant and looking for a new and exciting challenge?The RecipeWe’re looking for an experienced candidate to join the team and deliver outstanding employee experiences through transactional and administrative services, in line with service expectations, ensuring our people feel supported and valued.The Role

  • Administrative and Transactional Service: Provide administrative and transactional support throughout the employee lifecycle (e.g., references, first aid and fire warden payments, company cars administration, leavers, overpayments, probation extensions), and the upload of documents to employee files
  • First point of contact: Handle people related queries via portal, phone, email, or post.
  • Onboarding Process: Manage the onboarding process from Offer Approval to Day 1, including offer letter and contract generation, pre-boarding checks, managing pending hires, and assisting with new starter queries.
  • Attendance Management Support: Provide administrative support for the Attendance Management process, including handling Notifications of Absences, Fit Notes, and Attendance Counselling.
  • Ad-Hoc People Requirements: Support additional people requirements as needed in addition to core responsibilities as part of the broader People Team to ensure effective business operation and People Services delivery.

Essential Ingredients

  • Ability to manage a diverse workload, with high-level administrative and coordination skills.
  • General knowledge of all aspects of a People function, with expertise in handling first-line enquiries relating to policies and processes.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient in People Team Systems, with the ability to engage with technical specialists.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with diverse teams culturally and geographically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration at all levels.
  • Initiative to identify new opportunities and challenge established practices.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Good business awareness/knowledge.
  • Collaborative approach with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Curious and willing to learn new skills.
